Meet The Leadership

The Rev. David Chafin began serving as our Interim Pastor on January 1, 2026. He comes to us from an 8-year pastorate at North Eaton Christian Church(Disciples of Christ) at Grafton, OH.

Prior to his return to the pastorate with an interim ministry at the United Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in California, PA, he was for 8 years the Deputy Regional Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He previously served as Pastor of the Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Huntington, WV, following a co-pastorate at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hubbard, OH. His earlier service in ministry, dating back to 1980, was in the United Church of Christ and in the United Methodist Church in WV.

A graduate of Marshall University where he received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in music, David received the M.Div. degree from Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 1992. He has served in numerous regional and ecumenical ministries as well as arts and community service organizations in WV, PA, and OH.

David, a new resident on Bazetta Road along with his Pomeranian toddler, Buddy, has two daughters and two stepchildren who have blessed him with 13 beautiful and talented grandchildren. He loves to fish, but is out of practice. An avid musician, he enjoys the church choir, keyboard instruments, the opera, and symphony, and is determined to find his way to karaoke whenever time allows.
